So, I suck and never actually posted the results of my initial test for the “One Hundred Pushups” challenge.
I kept up the good form and did as many as I could and ended up at a whopping: 20 pushups.
I’m pretty disappointed. Part of me wants to blame the shoulder and chest weight lifting I did earlier Monday afternoon, but I’m not sure I would have achieved a higher number.
In any case, I’ll stick with 20 for the basis of this challenge.
Anybody else doing this challenge?
I am actually now on my 2nd week of the plan, and it seems to be going well. In my initial test, I was able to get 25 before crumpling into a heap on the carpet. So far, it is feeling great.
I’ve also started doing the Couch-to-5k plan (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml). It has already helped me to have more energy, and I’m actually starting to enjoy running, which I have never been able to claim in the past.
That’s awesome! Man, I need to seriously get my butt in gear!
I’m thinking of starting again next week to do the pushup challenge.
